TCM is Back on the Roster!

I have been a loyal fan of TCM ever since AMC switched from classic movies and left the field wide open. I used to be a big fan of the former face of TCM, the late Robert Osborne, and I’m a huge fan of the current face of TCM, Ben Mankewitz.
What I love about Mankewitz is he is my generation of classic movie lovers. He’s GenX, like me, and understands the value and art of classic movies. He comes by it honestly, of course (comes from Hollywood royalty), but I think it’s great that he is leading the charge.
Shortly before the COVID pandemic lockdown in October 2019, Comcast, which I was subscribed to, decided to drop TCM from its regular programming and only offered it through its “Sports and Entertainment” package.
I have been known to ask the clerk when picking up my hot wings on Superbowl Sunday “who’s playing tonight?” Why the hell would I need the sports channel?
(Sidenote: as a South Jersey native and current DMV resident, I OBVIOUSLY knew who was playing the Superbowl this year. I’m not THAT bad.)
I lost TCM right when I could have watched it more (pandemic) and haven’t watched it in over 5 years. Until now.
Our household has switched to Verizon! I couldn’t be more excited. And I am going to watch the heck out of TCM! I’m back, Ben!
